Vivid Sydney

Vivid Sydney is a festival of light, music, and ideas that includes large-scale light installations and projections through to music performances and some seminars. There will be some music performances from local and international musicians at Vivid LIVE at Sydney Opera House.

Vivid Sydney was first held in 2009 and has become Sydney's major winter festival. You are highly recommended to come and see this festival, as it is only held once a year.

Arguably, the highlight last year was Customs House in Circular Quay. The lights were combined with music and 3D effects such as Customs House seemingly filling up with water, falling apart before your camera and even breathing. It was well worth spending 15 minutes or so standing in the cold to see all the different sequences.

Sydney will light up each night from 6 pm with free and ticketed events. After 6 pm, you can see the Sydney Opera House in a new light, illuminated in color.

The Vivid Sydney Festival is scheduled to open this year, 2012, open on May 25 and close on June 11.

Don't miss it! More info about Vivid Sydney Festival click here.
